Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 October 2026

This policy explains what information Newsfactory (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit www.newsfactory.world, how we use it, and the choices you have. Newsfactory is operated by an individual publisher based in India. You can reach us at info@newsfactory.world.

1. Information we collect

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting provider and, with your permission, our analytics and advertising partners may collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, pages visited, time spent, referring page and approximate location (such as city or country).

Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you choose to tell us.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

2. How we use information

  • To run, secure and improve the site, and to fix technical problems.
  • To understand which articles readers value so that we can write better ones (only if we use analytics, and only with your permission).
  • To show and measure advertising, which pays for the site (only if we show ads, and only with your permission).
  • To reply to your messages and handle corrections, complaints and legal requests.
  • To comply with the law and protect our rights.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

At present Newsfactory does not set any cookies. The site stores one preference, your light or dark mode choice, in your browser’s local storage, which is needed for that feature and is never sent to us. Some articles include an embedded YouTube video. The video player is loaded only when you press its play button. When you do, YouTube (Google) may set cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). If we later add analytics or advertising that use cookies, we will ask for your permission first and update this policy and our Cookie policy. See the Cookie policy for the details.

4. Advertising

We display, or may display, advertising provided by Google AdSense and other advertising partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.

5. Analytics

We may use a web analytics service such as Google Analytics to count visitors and see how the site is used. Analytics cookies are only set if you agree to them.

6. Legal bases (visitors in the EEA and UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and on our legitimate interests in operating and securing the site for essential processing. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting past processing.

7. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share data only with service providers who help us run the site (for example our web host, and analytics and advertising partners you have allowed), when the law requires it, or to protect our rights. These providers have their own privacy policies.

8. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including India, the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers.

9. How long we keep information

Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting. Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and meet legal obligations, and then deleted. Cookie lifetimes are described in the Cookie policy.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its use, to receive a copy, and to withdraw consent. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may also request grievance redressal and nominate another person to exercise your rights. Email info@newsfactory.world and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Children

Newsfactory is a general news site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical measures, including HTTPS, to protect the site. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. California residents

If you live in California, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not currently use advertising cookies. If we do in future, you will be able to turn them off from a link in the footer, or you can email us.

14. Links to other sites

Our articles link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.

16. Contact and grievances

For any privacy question, request or complaint, email info@newsfactory.world.
