What the world is talking about, explained plainly.

Our standards

Editorial Policy

Last updated: 29 October 2026

This page explains the standards we hold ourselves to. If we ever fall short, please tell us at info@newsfactory.world.

Our purpose

We aim to help ordinary readers understand important and trending news. We prefer clear, accurate and useful writing over speed, sensation or clicks.

How we choose stories

We look at what people are reading, searching for and discussing around the world, then choose topics that fit our six sections: economics, global affairs, technology, sports, gadgets, and arts and entertainment. A story is chosen because readers want to understand it, not because an advertiser or partner asks for it.

Research and sources

  • We check each story against several published sources, preferring primary sources such as official statements, company filings, court documents, data releases and original reports.
  • When sources disagree, we say so rather than choosing the most dramatic version.
  • We name our sources in the article where it is practical and link to them where useful to the reader.
  • We separate what is known from what is claimed, expected or unconfirmed, and we use clear wording to show the difference.

Original writing

Every article is written in our own words. We do not copy text from other publications. Short quotations are used only when necessary, are placed in quotation marks and are credited to their source.

Use of technology and AI tools

We use software tools, including artificial intelligence, to help with research, outlining and drafting. These tools can make mistakes, so they are never the final word. A human editor reviews and approves each article before it is published. Before publishing, the editor checks the facts, figures, quotes and headlines against the sources linked in the article, and checks the page title, summary and image descriptions. We are responsible for everything that appears on this site.

Accuracy and corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it. Email info@newsfactory.world with the article link and the details. When we make a significant correction, we note it at the end of the article with the date. Minor fixes such as spelling or formatting changes are made without a note.

News, analysis and opinion

Articles that explain events are written neutrally. When an article offers analysis or a viewpoint, we make that clear in the text. Nothing on this site is financial, legal, medical or investment advice. Read our disclaimer.

Advertising and affiliate links

Newsfactory earns money from advertising and may earn a commission from affiliate links, especially in our gadgets coverage. This income does not decide what we write, how we rate products or which stories we cover. Affiliate links are disclosed, and any paid or sponsored content would be clearly labelled as such.

Images and media

Images on Newsfactory come from two kinds of sources. Some are photographs and graphics from free-to-use sources, including royalty-free and public-domain libraries, openly licensed collections and official press or media kits. We check the licence of each one and follow its terms, and we show a credit under the image where one is required.

Others are illustrations created with AI image tools. We use these only to illustrate a topic or set a mood. Every AI-generated image is labelled “AI-generated illustration” in its caption. The image file also carries a hidden label in its data that marks it as AI-generated. We do not use AI-generated images as evidence, and we do not present them as photographs of real events. We do not create AI images that show real, identifiable people, real news scenes, or logos and artwork belonging to others, and we do not use them to suggest that something happened when it did not.

Unless a caption says so, an image does not necessarily show the people, places or events described in the article. If you believe we have used your work without permission, or a credit is wrong, contact us and we will act promptly.

What we do not publish

We do not knowingly publish false claims, hate speech, graphic violence, content that targets private individuals, or material that encourages illegal or dangerous activity.
